Ribbon Cutting Ceremony & Book Signing in South Jackson

(June 3, 2016 – Jackson, MS) – On June 18, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. the Reaching and Educating for Community Hope Foundation (RECH), founded by formerly incarcerated , will host a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Wendy Hatcher Transitional Home located at 933 Cooper Road Jackson, Mississippi. This home will be named in honor of former Chaplain Wendy Hatcher, who was the first female Chaplain in the Mississippi Department of Corrections. In the future, the Wendy Hatcher Transitional Home will provide housing for women transitioning from prison to living independently. In addition, the home will provide summer camps and enrichment programs, plus year round mentoring, educational, and supportive services to children of prisoners and their families.

Chaplain Hatcher is a woman who has dedicated more than 40-years of her life into those who are marked by society as liabilities. The RECH Foundation is also hosting a Book Signing by author, Chaplain Wendy Hatcher. This new release titled, Time Served, is the personal story of Hatcher serving at Parchman and Central Mississippi prisons for over thirty years. After visiting the infamous prison with some of her church lady friends, she was never the same again. She followed God's call to give her life in ministry to those needing the freedom that takes more than an earthly key to unlock.
